Saskatchewan has something uniquE that not many places in the world have. It’s a fashion association.

If you haven't heard of this new association in our province, it’s dedicated to the betterment and support of the entire fashion community. This includes the likes of designers, wardrobe stylists, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, models, and basically anyone in the creative fashion industry. There are several objectives for the Saskatchewan Fashion Association (SFA), such as bringing together the community through an online member directory, helping open up visibility in the International market, and offering learning opportunities in business, marketing, selling, and areas specific to each art form (an example would be a specialized photography workshop).

What’s cool about this association, is the SFA is funded by Creative Saskatchewan, a government organization that supports other creative sectors like music, visual art, and craft. What this means, is there is opportunity and potential to tap into grant programs through Creative Sask in order to elevate our sector at home and internationally! That could potentially mean travel grants, opening up mentoring and educational opportunities, or anything that could help grow your fashion brand nationally or internationally! How lucky are we?!

Membership Directory

As mentioned earlier one of the major benefits of the SFA is the the world-class membership platform that publishes all members publicly so the community can find fashion designers, accessories designers, models, hairstylists, wardrobe stylists, fashion photographers, boutiques, makeup artists, professional services, and MORE all in one place!

Basically what this does, is it creates one main access point for all the fashion creatives in our province. So if you’re in need of a qualified makeup artist for your photoshoot, you can access the list online which links to their website.

is there a cost?

There is no cost in becoming a member right now. Once the membership website is launched there will be a small fee annually. Not much... think in the range of two coffees at Starbucks. This membership website will provide:

  • networking opportunities

  • a place to publish your portfolio

  • a database of contacts in the sector

  • access to educational programming we are developing with SREDA and others

  • and eventually educational resources for helping fashion entrepreneurs start, grow, and scale their businesses

We need each other!

And here's the thing... the more voices we have from the fashion community the better it will be for everyone in the sector! We will have a stronger community to ensure we can secure long-term funding, travel opportunities, export development, and so much more for YOU!

So, let's do this! You should join right now! And please share this message with others in your industry so we can start growing our community of fabulous fashion minded creatives.

Questions about it?

Direct questions to hello@saskfashion.com or the FAQ page on the website

P.S. If you're no longer a SK resident... all good. You can still be a member and network with our community. Woop!
